Feeding the Gulf Coast (FTGC) is currently accepting bids for the Summer Meals Program food vendor contract. The request is for food service management companies wishing to provide lunch meals and delivery five days a week for approximately 5,000 children, 18 years of age and younger. The meals must comply with U.S Department of Agriculture (USDA) Summer Food Service Program (SFSP). The contract period will cover May 28, 2019- August 16, 2019.
Feeding the Gulf Coast serves 9 counties during the summer. These counties include: Baldwin, Choctaw, Clarke, Conecuh, Covington, Escambia, Mobile, Monroe, and Washington. Feeding the Gulf Coast is projecting to serve 120,000 meals at 150 locations this summer.
To be considered written bids must be submitted by Wednesday, March 27, 2019 at 5:00 pm to: Feeding the Gulf Coast, 5248 Mobile South Street, Theodore, AL 36582. Bids must be sealed and clearly marked “Food Service BID” on the sealed envelope. Bids will be publicly opened in the FTGC conference room at 11:00 am on Thursday, March 28, 2019, read and recorded. Bid forms and specifications may be obtained by calling Eugenie Sellier at 251-653-1617 ext. 126.
Each bid must be accompanied with the following documents to be considered:
- Business Information Sheet.
- Complete attached bid packet. Menus must meet USDA Summer Meals Program requirements.
- Meal price must include price of food and daily delivery of meals to sponsor’s sites. Milk for lunch will be provided by FTGC. 8 oz, shelf stable milk will be shipped to and stored by the vendor. The vendor will add shelf stable milk to the unitized lunches.
- Three business references receiving similar meals service.
The owner of the above project will be awarding the contract following receipt and evaluation of the bids.
